- I work in both stoneware and porcelain.
- My pots begin on the wheel. When they are firmer I turn
them and then alter the shapes by squeezing and cutting. The decoration is
applied at this stage using slips coloured with oxides. My pots are
deliberately worked despite wanting a lively and immediate effect.
- After the first firing glazes are applied. The final
firing is done in a reducing atmosphere to 1280C to create the subtlety and
sensuality in the glazes for which I am continually searching.
- I am a selected member of both Anglian Potters and the Essex
Craft Society.
